The Electronic Gazette and Legislation Act 2025 (“Act”) largely came into operation on 9 March 2025, except section 4(30) on amendments in relation to the Immigration Act 1959. 

The Act amends various Acts to: 

  • provide for the Gazette published on the prescribed website to be the authoritative version of the Gazette, and to provide for the administration of the electronic Gazette; 
  • provide for electronic versions of revised editions of legislation to be authoritative; 
  • abolish the use of the Gazette as an instrument of appointment; and 
  • make related and consequential amendments.

Prescribed website 

The Interpretation (Gazette) Regulations 2025 came into operation on 9 March 2025 and prescribe https://www.egazette.gov.sg as the prescribed website for the purposes of section 48(2), (4)(a), and (6) of the Interpretation Act 1965 (as of 9 March 2025) in relation to the publication, judicial notice, and prevailing version of the Gazette.
