IPOS launches Collaborative Search and Examination Programme between Singapore and Vietnam, a first in ASEAN

On 1 March 2023, the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (“IPOS”) launched the Collaborative Search and Examination (“CS&E”) Programme between Singapore and Vietnam which aims to speed up the patent search and examination process for innovators interested to obtain patent protection in both countries.

The CS&E programme is complimentary during the pilot duration from 1 March 2023 to 28 February 2025, but official patent filing fees still apply. The applicant will receive the CS&E report within 10 months from the date of receipt of the CS&E request.
