MAS seeks comments on draft public disclosure requirements for regulatory capital for Singapore-incorporated banks
28 April 2022
On 30 March 2022, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (“MAS”) issued a consultation paper seeking feedback on draft public disclosure requirements for regulatory capital for Singapore-incorporated banks. The consultation closed on 29 April 2022.
The draft provisions in MAS Notice 637 on Risk Based Capital Adequacy Requirements for Banks Incorporated in Singapore (“Notice”) take into account standards relating to public disclosure requirements in the consolidated Basel Framework published by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision.
The draft amendments to Part XI of the Notice are aimed at enhancing market discipline by reflecting amendments to other parts of the Notice to implement the final Basel III reforms and improving the consistency and comparability of disclosure across Singapore-incorporated banks.
