The global outbreak of Covid-19 has prompted governments worldwide to implement exceptional regulations to curb the further spread of the disease. In Singapore, several travel advisories and the recent Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations have significant implications on the conduct of physical hearings in Singapore. With the increasingly strict restrictions against physical interaction, novel methods of conducting hearings need to be considered and adopted. This article seeks to set out the various points to keep in mind when moving forward with court and arbitration proceedings in the current climate.
