Allen & Gledhill Partners Andrew Chan, Dr Stanley Lai, SC, and Yap Yin Soon, and Consultants Vivian Ang and Desmond Ho authored the Singapore chapter in the Encyclopedia of International Commercial Litigation (2024), published by Wolters Kluwer. The chapter provides a general account of the structure of the Singapore courts and their jurisdictions, the legal profession, and general court procedures. It also traces the procedural steps for typical kinds of commercial litigation, such as claims for breach of sale of goods contracts, claims for damages under charterparties, claims relating to bank deposits, claims to enforce foreign judgments and arbitration awards, admiralty claims, and claims for breach of copyright and trademarks.
