The last quarter of 2021 saw a slew of policy developments in various jurisdictions. Notably, Singapore’s competition authority published wide-ranging changes to nine guidelines following two public consultations, highlighting, among others, a strong focus on the digital era; and also clarified its position on common types of business collaborations in a guidance note. The Malaysia competition commission published its findings and recommendations on the transportation sector and launched its strategic plan for the next five years. In the Philippines, an administrative order was signed to direct all national government agencies, government-owned or government-controlled corporations, and local government units, to comply with the National Competition Policy. In Thailand, the competition commission revised its post-merger notification form to request for more transaction details.
