Antitrust developments in South-east Asia: October to December 2020

The fourth quarter of 2020 saw an issuance of new guidelines and regulations setting out changes to certain aspects of competition law in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Notably, Thailand’s competition authority has completed a review of its first major merger notification since its merger control rules came into effect in 2018, and there continues to be a significant number of merger clearances published by the competition authority in Vietnam.
