ACRA announces resumption of Register of Registrable Controllers e-Service from 1 February 2021
On 1 February 2021, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (“ACRA”) announced that the Register of Registrable Controllers (“RORC”) e-Service in BizFile+ which was suspended in September 2020 has resumed as of 1 February 2021.
All companies and limited liability partnerships (“LLPs”), unless exempted, will be given up to 30 June 2021 to lodge the RORC information with ACRA. Entities that fail to lodge RORC information with ACRA by this date may face a fine of up to S$5,000.
With effect from 30 July 2020, companies and LLPs are required to lodge RORC information with ACRA via BizFile+ portal, in addition to maintaining their own RORC. Entities that had previously lodged their RORC information with ACRA in BizFile+ will not be required to lodge this information again unless there are changes to the RORC information.
Companies and LLPs may lodge their RORC information with ACRA through their registered filing agent (“RFA”) or on their own:
- Entities that have authorised an RFA to maintain their RORC and would like their appointed RFA to lodge the RORC information with ACRA should instruct and authorise the RFA to perform this lodgment.
- Entities that wish to perform the RORC lodgment with ACRA on their own as a position holder (i.e. directors, secretaries of company/partners and managers of LLPs) can do so via BizFile+.
FAQs can be found on the ACRA FAQs on RORC webpage.
