Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Heng Swee Keat delivered the Budget Statement for the Financial Year 2020 on 18 February 2020. We are pleased to provide two infographics covering important areas of the Budget Statement:

  • Key highlights: The focus of this year’s Budget centres on near-term measures for supporting businesses affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, as well as on addressing longer-term challenges, such as economic transformation, ageing population, education and housing.   • Environmental sustainability measures: Climate change and sustainability remain key aspects of the Government’s longer term policy goals since the 2019 National Day Rally speech by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Governments, corporates and investors increasingly consider environmental sustainability issues and how these can open up commercial opportunities. Key initiatives announced in the Budget include reducing Singapore’s carbon footprint, transiting the country to a low-emissions economy and commercialisation of innovative solutions.
