Boon Wah’s areas of practice encompass direct and indirect acquisitions and divestments, private equity property funds, regional investments and real estate deals involving complex structuring and multi-jurisdictional issues.

His clients include property developers, investment funds, REIT managers, government-linked companies and institutional property investors. In his years of practice, he has built up considerable experience in advising on various commercial and real estate transactions both locally and in the region. 

He joined the Firm in 2005 after serving out a scholarship bond with a Singapore statutory board, and has been a partner since 2008.

Boon Wah has been described as a “very responsible partner and good lawyer” in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific.

Work Highlights

  • Acted as counsel for SPH and Kajima in their successful tender bid for the Bidadari commercial and residential site at the price of S$1.132 billion.
  • Acted as transaction counsel for Alpha Investment Partners in the divestment of multiple HDB retail centres at a combined transaction value of at least S$500 million. 
  • Represented a private real estate fund managed by Keppel in its acquisition of Wilkie Edge, an eight-storey mixed-use commercial building located at 8 Wilkie Road Singapore, by way of a share purchase transaction, at a transaction value of S$348 million.
  • Advised DSV Solutions Pte. Ltd., a global logistics company, and LOGOS, a leading Asia Pacific logistics real estate specialist and part of ESR Group, in their joint investment of S$200 million in the development of a built-to-suit warehouse facility located at Tukang Innovation Drive, which is to be owned and developed by LOGOS.
  • Advised CapitaLand Development, as transaction counsel in relation to its joint venture with HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited in its capacity as trustee of Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (“A-REIT”) in relation to (i) the acquisition of the leasehold interest in 1 Science Park Drive from A-REIT and (ii) investment of approximately S$883 million to redevelop 1 Science Park Drive into a world class life science and innovation campus.
