Ee Jia Min

Jia Min’s areas of practice include corporate restructuring and insolvency, bankruptcy and commercial disputes. She regularly represents banks, financial institutions, government-linked companies, noteholders, trustees, insolvency practitioners and corporates in all kinds of restructuring and insolvency proceedings including schemes of arrangement, judicial management, individual voluntary arrangements, enforcement of security, clawbacks and breach of directors’ duties. She is experienced in representing clients in domestic, international and investment treaty arbitrations.
On the non-contentious front, Jia Min is active in advising banks, financial institutions, corporates, insurers and trust companies on a broad range of complex commercial transactions involving lending and taking security, set-off, bankruptcy remoteness issues and trust instruments. She also has expertise in advising on insurance-related transactions and premium financing matters.
Jia Min graduated from the National University of Singapore with an L.L.B. (Hons) degree and joined Allen & Gledhill after her call to the Singapore bar in 2016.
Work Highlights
- Acted for the informal steering committee comprising 10 major creditors holding US$1.34 billion of debt on the successful restructuring of Pacific International Lines, a significant player in the container shipping industry.
- Representing SembCorp in the insolvency proceedings for commodities trader Hin Leong Trading and other related proceedings including obtaining of injunctive relief, fraud and conspiracy claims and interpleader proceedings.
- Represented the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as Singapore counsel in an ICSID arbitration.
