GRI: Introduction to Corporate
Sustainability and Reporting

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) will aim to provide compliance professionals, lawyers and in-house counsel with a foundational understanding of corporate sustainability and sustainability reporting, including the evolution of corporate sustainability, the role of businesses in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the drivers and barriers to sustainability reporting. This module aims to equip compliance and legal professionals with the knowledge to advise clients on integrating sustainability into their business strategies.

GRI: Sustainability Reporting Landscape
and Double Materiality

GRI will aim to familiarise compliance professionals, lawyers and in-house counsel with a comprehensive landscape of sustainability reporting, focusing on the GRI and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standards. This module will also cover other relevant frameworks, certifications, and national ESG and sustainability legislations.

Participants will learn about the concept of double materiality and how to navigate the complexities of various reporting standards.

A&G: Greenwashing and the
Legal Ramifications

A&G will address the topic of greenwashing (e.g. definition, key laws, and trends), the potential issues arising from environmental claims, and share how organisations can put in place safeguards to avoid potential allegations of greenwashing. This module will also discuss how to handle allegations of greenwashing and what must be done in these situations.

A&G: Practical tips on how to Implement ESG Policies
from a Legal and Regulatory Perspective

A&G will provide practical tips on the management of key ESG-related legal issues that will help organisations to develop robust internal systems and controls to capture ESG opportunities. In addition, we will also discuss best practices for ensuring ESG compliance and how to enhance board oversight in an organisation.

Participants must not be absent from each day of the event for more than 15 minutes.
