Yee Ling has advised and represented property developers, statutory corporations, property funds, property investors, asset managers, local and foreign real estate investment trusts, government-linked corporations, sovereign funds, and listed and private companies. Her practice encompasses direct real estate acquisitions and divestments, sale and leaseback transactions, commercial leasing, built-to-suit sale and purchase and leasing transactions, property joint developments, and property development projects.
Yee Ling is recognised as a Leading Individual in Real Estate and Construction by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific and as a Notable Practitioner for real estate acquisition in IFLR1000. Yee Ling is ranked Band 1 in Real Estate in Chambers Asia-Pacific which describes her as being “proactive in providing legal advice and highlights possible areas of concern that clients may need to consider". She is commended for being “very business-minded”, demonstrating “good negotiation skills” and “balancing the legal risks with the company's needs and always tries to obtain the best outcome”. Work Highlights
- Advised Bridge Data CentresMalaysia Holdings Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bridge Data Centres, in respect of the concurrent acquisition of two data centres by Bridge Data Centres Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., renamed MY01 and MY02, comprising approximately one million square feet of data centre facilities and 20 megawatts of critical IT load located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, from Permodalan Nasional Berhad, a Malaysian Government Pension Fund.
- Advised Lend Lease on a joint venture arrangement with TRX City Sdn. Bhd. to purchase parcels of land and subsequently develop the ‘Lifestyle Quarter’ within the proposed international financial district known as ‘Tun Razak Exchange’.
- Advised on the acquisition of the initial investment portfolio relating to the IPOs of IGB REIT, Pavilion REIT and IGB Commercial REIT.
- Advised various data centre operators on their acquisition of land for their data centre operation in Malaysia.
