Allen & Gledhill establishes a regional office in Yangon, Myanmar. A&G (Myanmar) begins operations at Union Business Centre with two lawyers.

Historic elections are held in Myanmar.

A&G (Myanmar) comprises 10 lawyers.

A&G (Myanmar) advises Myanmar Citizens Bank (MCB) on its successful listing on the Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX), making it the first bank to be listed on YSX.

A&G (Myanmar) moves to its current office space at Junction City Tower.

A&G (Myanmar) is recognised by Project Finance International (PFI) for its involvement in the syndicated financing of the Myingyan power plant project which was named PFI Asia-Pacific Power Deal of the Year.

A&G (Myanmar) receives Tier 1 rankings in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific for Corporate and M&A and Projects (including Energy).  In addition, our Managing Director, Minn Naing Oo, is listed as a Leading Individual for Corporate and M&A, and in the next year, would also be recognised as a Leading Individual for Projects (including Energy).

A notable achievement.  Chambers Global ranks Minn Naing Oo in Band 1 for General Business Law: International Firms in Myanmar.

A&G (Myanmar) advises TMH Telecom on its successful initial public offering (IPO) on the Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX) where new shares were issued instead of existing shares introduced, making this the first true IPO on YSX.

A&G (Myanmar) wins the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Most Innovative National Firm of the Year (Myanmar) Award at the IFLR Asia Awards held in Hong Kong.

A&G (Myanmar) comprises around 30 lawyers.

Recognising the impact of global forces in the market, A&G proactively launches its Cybersecurity & Data Protection Practice; Private Wealth Practice; Employment, Health & Safety Practice; and ESG & Public Policy Practice. 

Focus on Sustainability

A&G becomes the first law firm in South-east Asia to be admitted to the United Nations Global Compact on Sustainability.

A&G Celebrates its 120 year anniversary with a series of specially curated events aimed at giving back to the community, and ensuring a sustainable future for all. 

Making an impact through A&G in the Community

A&G announced its "A&G in the Community" initiative, as part of its continuing desire to build a culture throughout the firm of giving back to society. As part of the initiative, every lawyer in A&G has pledged to do at least 24 hours of pro bono work or, in the wider sense, community service, a year. 

A platform, which includes a resource centre was also launched to further coordinate the Firm's efforts in this area.
